Wind Unlimited is a documentary in post production that addresses the primary barriers to America achieving 20% of its electricity generation from wind energy. Drawing from the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2008 report, “20Percent Wind Energy by 2030″ (www.20percentwind.org), the film profiles people working to overcome the challenges facing achievement of the 20% vision, including the need to revitalize U.S. manufacturing, modernize and expand the power grid, site wind wisely to protect wildlife and facilitate a rural renaissance in America’s heartland, manage wind’s variability, and smarten the nation’s energy policy for a stable market.
Do you know the truth about wind power? Do you wonder if it really can create jobs? How does wind power affect your power bill? Is it harmful to birds and wildlife? What is its potential? Our film presents answers to these questions and many more.
You’ll meet an ex-president, two governors, mayors, and local town officials- both Republicans and Democrats- working on policies to open markets for wind energy. You’ll meet farmers and ranchers hosting wind turbines and power lines on their lands. You’ll meet returned military veterans entering the wind energy workforce. And you’ll meet everyday people making a difference in their communities. You’ll also learn what you can do to help wind power.
Because wind is free and renewable, wind energy is price-stable and predictable. Utilities can lock-in wind power prices for 20 plus years, and wind energy can be a hedge against volatile fossil fuel prices, such as coal and natural gas. Wind energy can displace the burning of fossil fuels, improving air and water quality.
We think it’s important for people to make choices based on facts. Iowa and South Dakota are already producing 20% of their electricity from wind. Wind energy can be a significant part of the energy solution in America and contribute to America’s economic recovery.
Our award winning film from 2010, Wind Uprising, (www.winduprisingmovie.com) has been an invaluable tool for educating people about the struggles involved in developing the first wind farm in Utah. Our current film, Wind Unlimited, will be distributed widely to educate people and invigorate growth.
Please support clean, renewable energy by supporting the completion of our film. Our goal is to raise $25,000.00. These funds will pay for additional filming that is desperately needed, for post production to edit, incorporate narration and music, color correct, create titles, and finish the film. We have depleted our resources and must now ask others to invest in us today for a clean energy future for all of us tomorrow.
You may email us through the Contact Page for a password to the private screening of the film trailer and for the link to the Support The Film page to purchase 100% tax deductible items. Thank you very mush for your interest and support!
Completion is estimated for June, 2013.
